Top 10 February Book Releases 2020

I always find the winter months after Christmas the longest and hardest of the year to get through...but one way to brighten up your February is by getting excited for all of the new books set to release during the month! Here are the top 10 books to have your eye on:

The Gravity of Us - Phil Stamper

"As a successful social media journalist with half a million followers, seventeen-year-old Cal is used to sharing his life online. Stories about first love can be so cute, so I'm definitely holding out for this one to be super enjoyable. 

The premise for the story also sounds very unique which has got me hooked - it's hard to make these stories original so I'm interested to see whether this one turns out believable (or maybe a bit ridiculous). 

All the Stars and Teeth - Adalyn Grace

"Set in a kingdom where danger lurks beneath the sea, mermaids seek vengeance with song, and magic is a choice, Adalyn Grace’s All the Stars and Teeth is a thrilling fantasy for fans of Stephanie Garber’s Caraval and Sarah J. Maas’s Throne of Glass series.

This one sounds like an exciting new fantasy so if that's your thing make sure to add it to your list.

I'm not the biggest fan of fantasy but I do enjoy it when it's done well, so I'll probably wait for some reviews of this one before I give it a go.

Also, side note - but this cover is to die for. 

The Sun Down Motel - Simone St. James

"The secrets lurking in a rundown roadside motel ensnare a young woman, just as they did her aunt thirty-five years before, in this new atmospheric suspense novel from the national bestselling and award-winning author of The Broken Girls.

This one sounds very intriguing, even if the premise is a little vague and mysterious. 

Sometimes it really is best to go into books like this blind...

The King of Crows - Libba Bray

"After the horrifying explosion that claimed one of their own, the Diviners find themselves wanted by the US government, and on the brink of war with the King of Crows.

If you're a fan of Libba Bray s then no doubt you'll be aware that the final book in The Diviners quartet is due to come out this February. 

I personally can't believe the end is finally here...I LOVED The Diviners when I read it years ago so I really need to go back and read the whole series in preparation for this. 

I've never read a book that was such a good mix of historical fiction/fantasy/magic, so I don't know why it's taken me so long to continue with the series!

The Queen's Assassin - Melissa de la Cruz

It appears that February is the month of fantasy book releases - good news for any fans out there!

The Glass Hotel - Emily St. John Mandel

This one sounds rather eclectic, but sometimes those make for the best reads. I imagine it won't be an easy read, but one that really makes you think. 

A Good Neighbourhood - Therese Anne Fowler

"In Oak Knoll, a verdant, tight-knit North Carolina neighborhood, professor of forestry and ecology Valerie Alston-Holt is raising her bright and talented biracial son. Xavier is headed to college in the fall, and after years of single parenting, Valerie is facing the prospect of an empty nest. Again, this is a read that sounds like a rather deep social commentary, but I do think these can make for some of the most profound and thought-provoking reads. 

The Other Mrs. - Mary Kubica

"Sadie and Will Foust have only just moved their family from bustling Chicago to small-town Maine when their neighbor, Morgan Baines, is found dead in her home. The murder rocks their tiny coastal island, but no one is more shaken than Sadie, who is terrified by the thought of a killer in her very own backyard.

Thrillers in this vein are so popular nowadays, so if that's your thing, you'll definitely want to add this one to your list for February!

Behind Every Lie - Christina McDonald

"If you can’t remember it, how do you prove you didn’t do it?

Another book for my fellow thriller lovers out there...this one definitely sounds like it has an interesting start (struck by lightning?!). I hope it turns out to be believable, because those thrillers are always the best. 

The Shadows Between Us - Tricia Levenseller

"Alessandra is tired of being overlooked, but she has a plan to gain power:

1) Woo the Shadow King.
2) Marry him.
3) Kill him and take his kingdom for herself.

No one knows the extent of the freshly crowned Shadow King’s power. Some say he can command the shadows that swirl around him to do his bidding. I'm not the biggest fan of fantasy, but anything to do with courts, kings and queens sucks me right in. If that's your kind of thing too then this is the book for you! Personally, I think it sounds quite similar to A Court of Thorns and Roses - so again, if you enjoyed that series, then you should like this!
